02nd December 2024 - Open Cocker Trial at Savernake Forest.
Well what a great day for my last trial as Kintbury Field Trial Secretary. I would like to thank all the competitors, Judges, Aubrey Ladyman and Chris Thurston Woolnough, helpers, Chris Green Simon Goddard & Adrian Bundy, the guns Scott Morgan Lloyd & Allen and the host Paul Howard for making the day so enjoyable. Also l would like to thank Skinners who have sponsored Kintbury Gundog Club over many years for their continued support.
The day was very challenging for quite a few Cockers, the birds were plentiful, however, not easy to get flight for a few dogs. The weather was kind, the guns were very good shots hardly missing a bird, especially as the trees still have leaves. The banter was entertaining from the competitors. I would also thank the competitors who stood in at the last minute to avoid the trial being cancelled thank you so much for your support.
