Kintbury & District Gundog Club was formed in 1987. In 2006 it was decided to simplify the name to Kintbury Gundog Club. Since then we have grown into one of the largest clubs in the south of England, currently proudly having around 400 members from all parts of the UK.
On the first Sunday of every month we hold training sessions for all types of gundogs. All are welcome no matter what stage of training they are at, or what they are being trained for, whether that is for working in the field or as a pet at home.
We hold Working Tests & Field Trials for Spaniels and Retrievers annually. These are great events held on some of the best ground around and kindly provided by local landowners.
The club holds an Inter-Club match where as many as ten clubs compete, each entering a team of three dogs. This has grown into a very popular and social event.
We hold demonstrations at the Newbury Show and other local events for the public each year. Appearances at these events allow us to give advice to potential handlers of what can be achieved with correct training.
If you are interested in getting a “working” breed and want more information on which breed may suit your lifestyle please feel free to come along to the monthly training or any event and we can assist you with the decision.
