Today we have heard of the sad loss of one of   our most valued, long-standing members.
Den Vickery joined 22 years ago and has   supported the club throughout this time, serving   for a while as our Vice-Chairman.
He was a true countryman who enjoyed his shooting and his dogs. Labradors were his passion and he helped with the Sunday training sessions for many years, he especially enjoyed  ‘problem dogs’ his view always being that any problem with a dog could be overcome.
He would not give up until he had sorted it out.
Dogs had respect for Den as did we and he will be very much missed by us all.
His family and many friends are in our thoughts at this time and deepest sympathies go to his wife Margaret, his son and daughter.

International Retriever Test 29th & 30th May 2011 at       Highclere

Jon Chamberlain and the team of helpers receiving a cheque on behalf of the Kintbury Gundog Club from Greg Panter, the managing director of Skinners.

Writes Maurice Stanbury in the Shooting Gazette:

“The Kintbury Gundog Club fielded a full team of stewards and dummy throwers on both days and were rewarded by the presentation of a cheque for £250 from Greg Panter, managing director of Skinner’s. The cash will allow the club to purchase a remote controlled dummy launcher that will be used for training and at working tests.”

International dummy throwers and shot: Jon Chamberlain and Andy Parker Left, Dave Bazen and Paul North Right
